Wells Lady Warriors and Wells Rotary Club Raise over $35,000 for York Hospital

On Saturday, January 17, 2015 the Wells Lady Warriors basketball players participated in the Shootin For A Cure fundraiser for York Hospital's Heart Care for Women along with Breast Cancer Living Well programs.

The day consisted of all the girls in the basketball program from Elementary to High School shooting 50 foul shots each. Sixty-two players raised at least $100 each. During the day there were auction items, pink shirts for sale and a lot of other items for sale. The day concluded with a varsity girls game between Traip Academy and the Wells Warriors with both teams wearing pink uniforms. The Wells Warriors prevailed in a tightly contested game.

The Lady Warriors also partnered with the Wells Rotary Club last August for the 15th Annnual Chuck Cummings Memorial Golf Tournament. The proceeds were split and the Lady Warriors were presented a check for $10,250 to make the total amount raised to over $35,000.

Congratulation to Don Abbott head coach of the Lady Warriors and the Wells Rotary Club.
