Maine Homes Sales Up 11.71 Percent

In a press release by Maine Listings, single family home sales increased 11.71 percent in 2016 with a reported 17,507 homes sold. The statewide median sale price of $189,400 represents an increase of 4.93 percent.

Although interest rates have inched upward, they are still favorable to buyers of single family homes. It is a great time to buy and if you are a seller a great time to sell because of the low housing inventory for buyers to choose from.

A strong 2016 gives tremendous momentum going into 2017.
