Best Places To Purchase A Christmas Tree Near Wells, Maine

It's the most wonderful time of year and a fresh cut tree is just what you need to bring a little holiday cheer to your home. 

Here's a list of 6 of our favorite places to buy a beautiful evergreen for your home within a few minutes of Wells, Maine. 

1. Bragdon Tree Farm: 

This family owned and opperated, cut- your-own, tree farm right here is Wells is a town favorite! However you must act quick, they usually sell out each year in the very first week of December. Find more details at: https://www.facebook.com/BragdonTreeFarm/

2. Wells Recreation Department

Each year the Wells Park Recreation department hosts a tree sale from the last weekend in Novebmer until they sell out. Trees are affordably priced and the proceeds go to the Rec Commistion to help fund special projects.  Visit the Wells Rec. 3. Lily River Farm- Ogunquit

Lily River Farm is a family owned and operated farm in Ogunquit. While they don't specialize in Pine Trees they do have them on site and many local residents love to explore their woodlands for a perfect fresh tree here that you can cut on your own!  Details about the farm here.

4. Holms Tree Farm- Kennebunk

Offering a full Christmas experience including a visit with Santa! Family-owned and operated, since settled in 1742, Holms is a 65-acre farm with 25+ acres of primarily Balsam Fir trees.  Explore the farm and choose to cut or select a "Ready-cut" trees.

They offer Balsam wreaths in many sizes, kissing balls, garlands, and specialty wreaths. 

After choosing your greens and tree, visit the country gift shop, filled with many Maine-Made products and gifts, and enjoy free, hot, mulled cider brewing on the woodstove. Visit Santa in his Shack on weekends, where the children can talk with him, give him their Christmas list, and get a free candy cane (be sure to bring your camera, as he loves to have his picture taken with the kids!).

Also stop by othehamburger/hotdog wagon and visit the fresh, made on-site cider donut station. More details here. 

5. Great Works Farm- North Berwick

1000's of 6-11 foot trees to choose from include frasers, balsams, canaans, concolors and white spruce! You'll also find gorgeous wreaths & garland,  locally made crafts and some adorable farm animals! Explore the 100 acre woods featuring three hidden Christmas Tree meadows, vernal pools, brooks and large stone walls. Turn your Christmas tree hunt into a beautiful day hike and adventure! 6. Herbs Seafood- Kennebunk

Another fan favorite! Herbs is a small family run business in Kennebunk Maine offering a wide variety of fresh seafood locally along with beautiful plants and freshly cut trees at Christmas time! They also have gorgeous wreaths, centerpieces, holy berries & more. Grab a cup of soup or hot cocoa to make your visit extra merry! Learn more here.
